Interviewing with a small tech startup for a product management position. The recruiter told me the salary for someone with just the baseline qualifications would be 120k. I'm at 136k now as an M at Accenture. I'm worried about the growth but it is very inciting to leave. What type of verbiage should I use to let them know 120k is a little low?

Tell them what they are offering is less than what you are getting. You don’t have to tell your salary. Do you have a number?

I don't have one , I would love to make a little more than I do now but honestly I would take a small paycut to get out of consulting. I can always come back haha

Is there potential to roll the difference in salary into increased equity?

That's a great thing for me to bring up!

I'm a recent grad who accepted an entry-level full-time job offer with Capital One. I knew that MBB and other consulting firms rarely ever negotiate salary with new grads, so I didn't with Capital One as well. Was that a mistake? What were the likelihoods that they would have raised my salary? I had no other competing offers at the time
