When is the good time to tell the company that I am 3 months pregnant. My date of joining is 18th of July. I understand by law I need to finish 80days with the company before I avail maternity benefits which I can easily do in next 3 months.
I want to understand if women who go on maternity leave during probation are treated differently or if there will be discrimination once I let them know about my situation. Wipro Accenture Allstate Quantiphi analytics pvt ltd.

When my parents arrange marriage for me, the woman’s side always showed feedback my salary is low for Bay Area and hence declined… just to share why I’m asking.
My great grandparents all had arranged marriages and I appreciate wanting to marrying in your culture and religion. I met my husband at church and we got to know each other as kids in Sunday school and our cultural folk dancing at church, but our parents never asked for our financial information. I can’t imagine how hard that must be! The important thing is that you’d treat their daughter and your future children well and stay married happily and that there’s real chemistry between you two. You can always figure out a way to make more money in time, but if the spouse had lots of $ and ends up being a bad spouse or parent to future kids, that’s not a successful arranged marriage! An unhappy or divorced marriage is a failure even with $. I pray you find love and happiness soon.
Let’s just level set that when we say “good” we don’t mean average nor adequate but probably something more along the lines of “on path for an upper middle class lifestyle including homeownership”. By that definition no it’s not good. But it’s probably above average and enough to live reasonably on
“Good” by this definition and region is probably more like 3-400 for 35
Compensation is not tied to age. It’s tied to your skill plus responsibility, in addition to location
It's not a bad salary, but if you're the breadwinner, yes.
Damn. What do people think is a good salary at 35 years old in the Bay?
250 is cutting it now, BUT we also bought our home under a million over 10 years ago and it’s worth over 2 million now. Property taxes factor into that! Im starting to work again now to help supplement and things like insurance and food are getting really expensive. I am really picky about how clean and healthy our food and body/cleaning products are. $$ We drive classic cars that are expensive to maintain and insure at proper levels (normal insurance companies just look at poor comps and blue book) Our public school is excellent 9/10 so we take advantage of that. If you decide on private, that’s a lot$$$. Our preschool was amazing but almost $8k for 3 mornings a week 9-1pm. Glad to be done! Next year both kids school funded by property taxes. The year round activities ballet karate are expensive for us…so ideally I would not start out in Peninsula without 3-400k annual household income if you are looking to buy a house here now. We also haven’t even done vacations in several years. Hoping to get back to that. We grew up here, lived here our whole lives, and our families are here, and we love it, so while it’s super expensive, we are making it work. There are many good job and university opportunities nearby.
In tech? Yes. Outside of tech, not really.
This is a loaded question. Work hard, do your best and stop comparing yourself to others
It really depends on your role and industry. And what lifestyle you want to have (home cost, number of kids, is your spouse also working, etc.). I’m sorry you’re in this situation. I don’t understand the nuances of arranged marriages, but there may be an issue with the other side’s expectations.
Depends on your industry and role. In tech, as an engineer, it's pretty bad. I'm 30 and make more than double that, not even working for big tech. Google's entry level engineers make around $200k TC on average, only a tiny bit less than you despite presumably a decade less experience.
You may find levels.fyi a helpful resource
No, but it would probably be helpful to know what your gross income looks like.
