Hi Sharks, I am asked to sign the offer letter. It's kind of an agreement between me and the company for accepting the offer and compensation numbers. Of course It doesn't have statments like I have to join the company on signing this. My question is that 1. If I get a better offer can I go and ask them to revise the offer? 2. Can I decide not to join the company? Will there be any legal consequences? Have you ever been asked to sign the offer? Boeing Tata Consultancy Wipro Capgemini Cognizant

Seems pretty standard. You shouldn’t expect overtime if you’re employed on salary in this industry. The hours can be long but are also very flexible.
I started at a $45k, no OT, in NYC, at a big agency. Seems pretty good to me.
Nah get that OT even if you need to take a cut, I’d ask 50-52k. I started at 52k with OT and ended up making 80k before taxes. Actually lost money when I got promoted. Large shop nyc.
They didn’t give me any flexibility so I already signed 🤦♂️ but thanks
New York law is anything under $58,500 is eligible for OT. We have all of our juniors raised in order to meet that threshold. As others have commented, you will make a lot in OT so it’s in the agency’s interest to not give OT. But your offer means legally you’re eligible. HR should be aware of that because they’re messing up.
@CW1 I think I should. Thanks so much!
Is it a Jr AD title? Or AD? Jr AD in NYS is supposed to be OT eligible. Also, what CCO says above re: the rate.
@AD1 Thanks a bunch!
It's doable. I started at 52 + OT tho.
Zero negotiation here too.

Yes.

I honestly wonder if you can have it looked into later. Who knows, they may end up owing you extra backpay. Congrats on the job though
Bowl Leader
A bit low w/o OT.
I started at 40k granted it was 15 years ago. Did that for 2 years and jumped to 80k. Put your time in and you’ll get there. Congrats on the new gig!
Thanks so much😊
Pretty normal
