My advice is always negotiate. The worst they can say is no but companies very rarely rescind offers in my experience. Don't leave any money on the table.

Agreed!
I'm sorry, can you clarify something for me? You tried to counter an offer, and the employer rescinded the offer completely?
Ghosted. However, because they had already scheduled the final call to review start date, they did call but only to pick apart my resume again and tell me that they are "finishing up interviews with other candidates". Why would they bold face lie instead of formally rescinding the offer? Yes I realized they're not people I want to work with, however the company is one of the best and almost impossible to get a job directly. They only hire through recruiters and they never specify the company name on indeed only the recuiting company's name which means you can't search for a job in the company anywhere, the gate keeping is fierce in a competitive field.
I honestly think you dodged a bullet if you tried to negotiate and the company took their offer back. It sounds like they wanted to underpay you. I would encourage you to keep negotiating and expect what you're worth.
Why does minority matter out of curiosity there are clauses against discrimination of race, gender, age, etc
As you age get ready for questions about whether you know how to use a computer or have retirement plans or interviewers trying to determine your age, it gets bad fast and gets worse from that point on. No one escapes discrimination, its a matter of when or how,

Claims Rep - those questions about your age, who you live with, and if you’re planning to have more kids, are illegal for them to ask. You shouldn’t answer and should deflect. Redirect them to the job and interview. Are you genuinely being asked those in interviews though? I’m having a hard time believing it. I’m a minority and have also interviewed others. We never ask those questions. Maybe you dodged bullets with those companies. Also - I have a hard time advocating for myself. But, it’s mainly bc I’m bad at talking. Maybe we both just need to work on that.
