Is anyone else here a recovering workaholic? I’ve been working on my workaholism in therapy for 2+ years and have made great strides. After my kids were born I left private practice doing M&A to go in house at a cushy corporate job working 9-5. It’s so much better for WLB but I sometimes have to remind myself that I don’t need to work late anymore and set the boundary with myself. Even still I’ll feel guilty for logging off at 5. Can anyone relate?

Yep. After losing my pregnancy that I had been trying for over five years, I had to adjust my priorities. Came out of the depression with a IDGAF attitude. Still in the same role with the same firm (they’re great), but work is not my life anymore. I work late if I need to but don’t stress over taking time off to take care of life too.

I have billed 4+ hours today helping a partner prepare a 10 slide PowerPoint for a board meeting tomorrow. Let’s say half of the time was fixing spacing and formatting. I really don’t care as I am billing all of it, but am I wrong in thinking this is unjustifiably too common and a waste of time?

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

What will be in hand salary for fixed 31LPA (PF 21600)

Can anyone here explain me the variable component in Mindtree??
HR said.. everything is fixed , there is nothing variable here.
Is this true ?? Or is it that there is variable which is being paid monthly and which can actually vary month to month??

Please explain if anyone can.

Mid-level associate at a mid-size regional insurance defense firm practicing coverage litigation. Salary is capped b/c my firm only does I.D./coverage and has no direct-hire comm clients. Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? I've never worked at another firm.

Just had a hearing on my motion to compel where OC told the judge we hadn’t conferred before filing the motion. Not only did I attempt to confer on 3 separate dates, I attached the emails and his response that he refused to confer to my motion. Judge didn’t care, as soon as she heard him say we hadn’t conferred she denied the motion. Not asking a question, just needed to vent.

Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? Or would one need to find funding and then contact a plaintiff’s firm to actually handle the case? I’m a transactional lawyer, so this is out of my wheelhouse.
