I am reaching out to you all and am looking forward to break into Investment Banking from Consulting. Applied to Goldman Sachs via a referral but my resume is stuck after HireVue. Talked to the VO who referred me and he said Goldman doesn’t hire in Q4. If that’s true and still need to be in GS, can someone forward my resume directly to the team? Their career portal sucks. TIA Goldman Sachs PS: I promise a dinner in a dance place in NY after I get hired as a sign of my gratitude 🙈

Be honest and let them know how much you’ve enjoyed working with them.
If possible, give yourself a few days off in between leaving and new role. You’ll thank yourself later.
Just be honest. You have to do whatever is best for you and your family!

Congratulations!
Share your excitement about your future. Advise your mgr in person of possible and follow up with written resignation. Thank the current group for what turned out to be a solid run and learning experience…you appreciate the support they’ve given you. This opportunity offers a great new challenge, etc.
Detail how you will wrap up projects, leave them ready for your replacement, etc.
Remember to send an email to your team on your last day, “you may already know that today is my last day w (co name). It’s been a wonderful experience to grow professionally and get to work and know you…..”
Offer your personal contact info if you want to then a “until our paths cross again..” type closing.

Don't do anything until an actual offer letter is
1. Received
2. Signed and returned
3. Confirmed that they received it
Then worry about giving notice.

I know your pain. A year ago I gave notice to my company after working there for 14 1/2 years. I wrote a nice resignation and sent it to my boss. Once it was done it was a weight lifted. Just be prepared for if they try and counter
Just be honest you found a better opportunity. And no offense, but we are all replaceable. They will find someone for your role. Just take the new opportunity and run.
Congratulations! Be direct, be honest, don’t burn any bridges. You’ll feel relief once it’s done.
