Yup, definitely - we bring people in from the big 4 all the time. Just make sure to demonstrate how you were a top performer at Deloitte. Helps a lot to have a referral - shoot me a dm, happy to drop your resume.
@D1 of course, no reason for snark
@OP - I can’t speak to your likely level, because I don’t know Deloitte’s hierarchy or what an SC is. However, I joined mckinsey as an experienced hire when I had about 7 yrs of experience, and came in as an Associate (the post mba level). I think it’s pretty rare to join as an em - most experienced folks come in as asc or some level of partner - because EM is such a crucial role. However, McK honestly is a meritocracy - I had a colleague who went from Asc to em in 9 months. If you’re good, they’ll put you at em sooner rather than later
Yes it’s possible - I did it from CBO - your OP at Deloitte makes no difference but you’ll come in as a MBA hire level - that being said experienced hiring is very slow or stopped at the moment so best bet will be next year
Are there cycles to keep an eye on or just slow because of the economic outlook?
Bruh what are you talking about? Ya any of these can probably make a millionaire but that doesn’t mean one isn’t better than the other
Apply or preferably find a referral. I made the jump from D
It’s doable. I backed out while interviewing but I got a McK interview while at Deloitte.
It was for a specific new solution they were developing internally and deploying to their clients. It sounded on the website that it was more involved in the defense sector but in reality it seemed to be more about PE around the defense sector. I just became disinterested over time
I knew a M&A SC at Monitor joined BCG platinion.
Way easier today than 10 years ago to get a first round
Interview bar is still high as expected to make it through
Straight forward, get a referral and apply. Especially if from target undergrad
Best of luck in case prep!!
Totally doable, i did the interviews but unfortunately did not pass them (got a colleague who did pass them and is now at an MBB),we were both Cs. Obviously the interview process is very competitive, but you already know that, what matters is that it is possible to get a look at your resume.
As a first year analyst looking to make this jump in the next couple of years, what kind of projects should I look to get experience in to make my resume stand out/fit MBB strategy work. Deloitte has tons of strategy projects, but that doesn’t mean they all fit the strategy consulting background MBB would like to see in a resume.
Bummer. What type of projects at D should I look to get experience in to better my shot at MBB?
Is EM the toughest level at McK?
I think that should be it’s own thread
