Do you have an mba from a top tier school?
No. Why would they be? It’s not really transparent unless you’re in need of specific knowledge and get pointed to one. Then you’re grateful
.
Yes different from generalist. Same comp, still client facing, same team structures. Promotion path leads to Director not Partner, there are no selling requirements, and it’s not up-or-out.
Are expert track people considered 2nd class citizens at the firm?
I talked to a recruiter about a expert principal role, but the vagueness of the career path made me a bit uneasy plus the comp wasn’t any better than at AP.
BCG1 - I heard they are not well integrated into the teams and projects.
I agree with AP1, I felt the same way, it seems like the firm is using them to win more work but don’t plan on integrating them in the long term.
D1 - my experimence has been different. The career path isnt that vague. ECT goes Consultant-PL-Principal-Assoc Dir-Dir-Partner (by exception, but may be evolving). Principal comp is same as generalist 210-260 base (depending on level Pr1-Pr4), bonus up to 60-100% (again dep on level), free healthcare, 10% profit share on base+bonus
