Is it common for some owners to be unethical? I understand this happens, esp w very powerful ppl, but I'm noticing it happens more frequently. For example, my boss/the owner will aggressively gaslight employees so that they either a) Do what he wants or b) Look crazy in front of others, to the point of a breakdown. I've seen him make both women and men cry regularly. I'm also catching him in more lies, and he gets a kick out of embarrassing ppl in front of others. Am I being too sensitive?

I made a mistake at work yesterday and my boss was being super mean about it. How do I move past this?

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients.
