Is it generally easier for recruiters to place NY corporate/M&A specialists vs in CA?

I matched with a guy and we initially agreed to meet for the first time this coming Friday. Last Wed, he sent two messages on the app with suggestions but I wasn’t able to text back until Sat because I was traveling. He unmatched me. Am I in the wrong here? How often do you text people in the talking stage? (F in early 30s here)

I’m in my 2nd year in audit. I want to pivot into management consulting within a big 4 or MBB. Has anyone seen someone make this lateral movement? I’m not sure how feasible that is and what steps to take. I’m also down to discuss further with whoever is comfortable in connecting.

How long is it recommended to stay in a role so it doesn’t look like job hopping?
I would like to continually increase my income, but 3% merit increases don’t cut it.

Been working at my company as a new grad for almost a year, but don’t see myself in the team that I am in (working with Salesforce) for long term. Interested in frontend dev and have been learning on my own. Manager says chase doesnt have much React opportunities. Is it possible to make a switch when I barely have experience? Are there companies that will hire by seeing that I am willing to learn and am interested in frontend even tho I don’t have much experience with it yet?

I just graduated and I have made it pass the third interview which was a two part working interview that I will receive compensation for. I have BS degree in healthcare professions and wanted to know if 40k is too low of salary to start off as a compliance officer for a pharmacy that provides discounted medications. Should I disclose or hide the fact that I am on maternity leave? I have an interview with a big law firm in NY. I’m currently working for a law firm in Atlanta. I imagine I will be asked whether I have returned to the office or working remotely from NY. My husband and I have been living in New York since the pandemic to be near family. What sort of work is considered corporate finance? This was referenced in a energy practice related interview and am not sure what sort of work that would entail.

Very Noob question: First year here that has done DD for a couple of deals representing the seller now. Essentially all I did was note whether certain agreements have change of control provisions, and if so, what the specific language is. I understand what the CoC do, but why am I doing this? Specifically, what does the buyer do with this? It seems like these provisions should trigger but nothing then happens...

Do people proactively begin finding work when they know they may be low on work soon? Or do they just wait until they actually don’t have enough work to fill their days? Is it a big deal if a partner questions how much time you spent on something? Can’t they just write off time that seems excessive, or am I missing something? Do you bill late night waiting time? It's 1am now and only reason I'm staying up is to wait for the printer to provide a revised OM so I can review that our changes went in properly and sign off. Do I bill the time between now and when I sign off? Just curious how you all treat this time.
