Is it generally easier for recruiters to place NY corporate/M&A specialists vs in CA?

Yes, NY is easier. There is more corporate work in NY, more corp partners in NY, etc.

Yes. Also East coast is easier to ride during downturns. Better quality of life West, but shorter lived experience at the firm, unless you are very good at your job and are able to build a strong relationship with your group. Many offices on the West Coast run like a family thing lol

like

Just curious, why would that be? Most firms cross staff these days

Just from my experience, I noticed it’s harder to get placed in the west coast just that many partners tend to be on the east coast and want to sit with/supervise the associates where they’re located

The NY legal market is bigger than like the next 3 markets combined so yes

Been working at my company as a new grad for almost a year, but don’t see myself in the team that I am in (working with Salesforce) for long term. Interested in frontend dev and have been learning on my own. Manager says chase doesnt have much React opportunities. Is it possible to make a switch when I barely have experience? Are there companies that will hire by seeing that I am willing to learn and am interested in frontend even tho I don’t have much experience with it yet?

Hello everyone !
I just graduated and I have made it pass the third interview which was a two part working interview that I will receive compensation for. I have BS degree in healthcare professions and wanted to know if 40k is too low of salary to start off as a compliance officer for a pharmacy that provides discounted medications. My first 3 months will be training for my position but I will be paid the same. The job hasn’t offered me a dollar amount yet and I want to be best prepared.

Should I disclose or hide the fact that I am on maternity leave? I have an interview with a big law firm in NY. I’m currently working for a law firm in Atlanta. I imagine I will be asked whether I have returned to the office or working remotely from NY. My husband and I have been living in New York since the pandemic to be near family. My current firm asked everyone to go back last week but since I am on leave I didn’t have to. I want to avoid lying without jeopardizing my chances.
