Is it inappropriate to reach out to associates who recently left my new firm and who I have no personal connection? I’m a junior only a few months into this firm that seems to have a high turnover rate. Seems like many of them go on to bigger law firms, and I’d be interested to hear how they got there, whether they like their new firms, why they left, etc.

Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? If someone wanted to bring a lawsuit against their former employer would a general contingency arrangement with a plaintiff’s firm make sense? I applied to a position that brands itself as civil litigation and apparently the role is med mal defense. Not sure what to go by but would like to do a little research before I call them back.

Advice Request: Started my career litigating. Switched to niche transactions (so about half and half at this point). I went through all the stages of interviewing with a firm then they chose not to fill the position. They said internal priorities changed. I saw about 5 months later they posted a similar position. Guess who has another interview!

Anyone know when Ch. 7 BKs must close by? Is this changed by when there are adversary proceedings (alleged fraudulent transfers made to a bank for CC payments)? Asking for my friend who is unfortunately involved bc of his parents, who are the debtors (he isn’t a defendant or a debtor in this, but the payments were made to a CC in his name—a CC he didnt know was opened in his name).
