I know Liver King is out there but my roommate has been living by his “9 ancestral tenets” and it basically changed his life. Anyone else that follows something similar seen benefits? Seems like he’s rooted on well being and staying connected with the world around you. Even if you think he’s weird his YouTube video is well put together.

Honestly I started using Noom and by simply tracking everything I eat I lost 8lbs in a month without working out like a maniac. They classify food into 3 groups:
1. Green - least calorie dense and most nutritious so they should make up most of your diet. You’re encouraged to eat as much as possible (think fruits and veggies).
2. Yellow - more calories and less healthy nutrients then “green” foods so incorporate into your diet in moderate proportions (think lean meats and starches)
3. Red - most calorie dense and the least nutrients so they should be less frequently and in small proportions (think red meats and desserts)
As someone who comes from an immediate and extended family where people are mostly overweight and struggled with weight most of my life this thought process and logging my food has changed the way I thought about food. For example, I never ate potatoes because I assumed they were bad for you but when I ate sweet potato wedges with a little seasoning Noom’s food tracker said it was a green food because it was a veggie with my added ingredients like butter or a sauce to eat them with. Small things like this has changed what I eat and I’m happy for it.
This might not work for you or anyone else but Noom’s program is backed by science and designed with the psychology of humans in mind. So once you’re done with the program you should have all the tools you need to keep living your life in a healthier way.
EM1 - I made a commitment that I would speak my truth. And while my truth might not be for everyone - in fact, I know it won’t be - I trust it will find the people it’s meant for.
I hope you can make the conscious choice not to judge and define others. Don’t put people in boxes. Don’t assign meaning. Don’t create a story around people’s actions. Don’t determine people’s intentions.
