Is it normal for manufacturing jobs to pull a bait-and-switch on the hours? I just interviewed for a position that was clearly listed as M-F. During the interview, the hiring manager casually brought up "occasional Saturdays" like it was totally standard and no big deal. Is this normal for manufacturing roles? I'm trying to figure out if "occasional" means every single weekend.

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. I have not done any consulting before so I am not sure how it works, what I would need to set up (they mentioned that I would start a LLC and bill them directly, no idea how to do that), how to determine the tax implications of this, or what hourly rate I would expect.
