Everyone knows this is the covid world. I’ve seen plenty of beds, pets, babies, kids on work calls.
These juice boxes won’t open themselves!

Bed fine. Just don’t leave the bottle of lube out on the dresser next to it 🤦♂️
Whoops
Says who? Not everyone can afford to have a dedicated space for vtc. If someone at your work makes you feel bad about it. Remind them they are no inclusive and accommodating for everyone.
As long as the bed is made I don’t think it’s a big deal. I do it all the time for internal meetings. External meetings I just turn the camera a bit or put on a virtual background
Fuck that. Show your bed. (Make sure there’s no stain tho. That’s embarrassing.) This is the time to see that everyone is actually ALL human being.
That’s what I’m saying. Be human.
A visual bed isn’t a problem as long as you’re not in it. I’ve been on calls with clients and I see their beds in the background. I do think laying in bed while on a call is too much.
Totally agreed on that. I’m about to move client side and in a fairly senior role - and I know agencies are generally more casual so I was curious about what the vibe is at other agencies/client side etc.

Flex that bed homie~
At least make your bed though
Agreed, as long as it’s made you’re good. If it isn’t, it’s more of a distraction.
I want to tell you no, but I think if I was a JR female employee and my SR to me make employee had their bed visibly in view it would make me feel uncomfortable?
I just think if I were having a conversation with someone and seeing their bed/etc would be distracting and an air of a line I personally wouldn’t show if I could help it. Not because I’m accusing OP of anything nefarious - to be clear. It’s just more than I would feel comfortable sharing personally, or want to see of others.

Just blur the background or make a background out of some pvc and fabric.
They have the thing to change the background or blur the background
I would be very uncomfortable seeing my co-worker's bed on a professional call. It feels like forcing your personal space on others. Along the lines of - I assume my coworkers wear underwear, but I don't want to see their undie drawers, ya know?
Come to think of it, bed is not just personal space, it's intimate space.
Virtual background for the win.
I don’t think it’s an issue, but personally would opt to use a blur or other background. Mostly bc I don’t like my coworkers seeing inside my apartment
Just use a virtual background.

Just use a background. No one sees my house even if Im in my cute office.
Doesn't matter really... in fact sometimes a messy background is a nice icebreaker... "oh ya just got up from my siesta" "ah yeh in case meeting is too boring I can take a nap"
I think a bed is a bad look. Sounds like it’s possible to position your desk so that the bed isn’t behind you. Why not leave it like that? I keep a neutral colored wall behind me or occasionally a sofa, make sure there’s no crap around, and I have good lighting on my face.
What about a screen behind you?
Tbh I say no to the bed unless you're pretty junior or want it to be distracting when you speak. Can you rearrange so the desk is like right in front of the wall or something?
my guest bed is behind my desk 🤷🏻♀️ i use the blur background
No beds please!
Amazon2 preach.
Never ever show a bed. Even if you can get away with it and everyone else does it. You'll make a better impression *without* a bed.
Use a simple modern sleek virtual background that looks like an anonymous living space and doesn't call attention to itself.
