Is making a lateral move for a consultant role from a B4 to at a startup worth for about 25% increase in TC? I see a lot of people here switching for large increases and curious if I’m making the wrong decision. Have an opportunity to be more technical if i stay at B4 or will be into PM/Strategy work at a startup which is less enjoyable.

I came from a startup, and while the experience was good I don’t know that I’d do it again. The bump is nice but don’t jump ship just because everyone else is. What’s the reason outside of money that’s making you consider leaving?

The type of work is not particularly enjoyable and i don’t feel like I’m learning technical skills that I am interested in. If i stay with B4, have an opportunity to continue to develop technical skills by joining a new practice at the cost of lower pay, promotion path etc

It doesn’t have to be at lower pay. Give them a chance to counter their offer, big 4 are all hiring like crazy and if you’re solid they’ll want to retain you.

I may be biased, but I would seek opportunity doing what you’re interested in within your firm or at a different B4. Maybe take a year to learn a new skill set and transfer it out. But the biggest mistake people make is not giving their current firm to counter, especially if there’s avenues available for other roles.

I worked really hard and sacrificed a lot (including mental health) to get to this but it seems a little tiring knowing I still have so long to go. I recently moved out and in with my BF so my expenses are split, but nonetheless they are still expenses. Any tips on continuing this journey and keeping the drive?

Yieldnodes is a server rental program, NOT a trading investment. Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.
