As somebody who went to a montessori school until middle school, absolutely
The entire model of learning is based around creative exploration of topics, and relies on largely internal motivations for learning vs external motivations, i.e. think of how well you remember things you learned about bc you were interested, vs how many tests you learned to the point where you can get an A and then promptly forgot
Also learning is paced to the student, meaning it gives young bright students the ability to really get ahead at the areas they want to vs the institutional system of learning at fixed levels / intervals which has to work for the lowest common denominator. Meanwhile it gives the students who are struggling extra attention without punishing them
That said, I would not recommend montessori all the way through HS since learning how to 'play the game' of education is actually an important skill students should pick up before college
I was a Montessori kid it is the best foundation for a happy life
I was a Montessori kid as well and it was truly one of the best experiences for me. Not only did I truly enjoy it, but I was well ahead of my peers in public school (reading level, math skills, etc)
Yes
It depends... what other options do you have? Not worth it where I live.
I didn’t think it was worth the cost, after trying it for a few years.
Montessori has been fantastic for our daughters, they start very young, under 2 years old, and first focus on life and practical skills. Now they are 5 and 7 and they still impress us but now with reading, math, etc. It’s about 10k per child per year where We are in Georgia. Plan is to switch to public school before HS.
As long as it’s a true Montessori school. Careful, some schools are cashing in on the profitability of using that designation. Friend found out the wrong way with her kid. Her kid was stuck for a whole school year until the kid could test into a proper Montessori school for the following year.
What age ?
How much per year
Lol gotta take out that wallet
Yes, particularly at a young age where you kids learn habits about creative thinking/exploration. IMO it’s less worth it later when the expectation for school to provide more specific knowledge/facts.
^speaking as an ex-Montessori kid

My daughter attended FT since she was 2.5 yo till ~4; it was the best choice we'd made for her.
It is great
