Is my brain broken with my particular type of ADHD or do we in professional services over-explain and over-engineer every slide we make and every sentence we type? I can’t read the signal from the noise and pull out my action items because my colleagues and leaders are rambling/pontificating for 8 minutes to make a point that they could make in 2 sentences. I feel like I’m getting buried in an avalanche of words and I wish someone would speak clearly for once.

Hello All - I struggle with time management. I take medication but I have no idea whether a task will take 40 mins or 4 hours. Because of this, I over commit and under deliver. Also, having been on the receiving end of criticism, over time I have developed a perfectionist streak. I won't turn it in if it is good enough. How do you break out of this habit?

I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females. The good news is if i do have ADHD, it makes me quite good at my job as I’m very flexible and can provide positive energy to my patients. Anyway, my boss has told me I have ADHD multiple times. It seems rude when she says it, and she follows it up with “I say that because I love you” which i feel is so unprofessional all around. Anyone have guidance on how to handle this?
