The government always gets its cut. I mean how else are all the entitlement programs going to get paid for?

Dont know the answer but sorry to hear that.

I really doubt it though, even ilegal activities income is taxed, cannot imagine that severance would be exempt

There are only 2 things certain in life - taxes and death

The advantage of not being a W2. Everything collapses if high paying W2 disappears

A severance check is taxable income. Though you may get a bigger refund end of year, if your withholding rate is on an income level higher than what you end up earning due to the unemployment.

But when you retire, doesn’t more taxes you ended up paying allow you to gain more money back in terms of social security, etc.?

Hi fishes,
I had interviewed for Cognizant and I was asked to submit my documents for offer letter release. This happened on the same day as my interview(Friday 6th May). I submitted my documents and I am trying to contact the HR who scheduled my interview, but she is not picking up my call. My question is how soon can I expect the offer letter to be released? And is there a possibility that they can reject my profile at this stage?

Question! I just moved(transferred) to another team of my company and received new title, graphic & creative services. I was a senior graphic designer at the previous team. What do you think about my new title? I know that title is not a big thing but why I feel like my title is downgraded here… Good thing is my jobs here at my current team are what I really wanted to do. This is amazing. I love my new team and people here! Super healthy working environment! But just curious about the title.

Looking to get advice on two different job offers. I am only concerned about long term career prospects in choosing one or the other. Offer 1: warehouse manager for a beverage company. Offer 2: material distribution manager for an industrial equipment manufacturer. Again, only want input on future opportunities that each might provide. Thanks!

Interviewed for Deloitte S&A Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got a much higher offer for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but need time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.

Currently making 180 TC at a large bank and have an offer from a FAANG for 260 TC. Salary is not much different (165) but bonus/equity structure is decent. fully remote, dope company etc. I’ll be moving laterally in terms of title but I get the impression the scope/impact is larger and leveling is different in tech… no brainer?

Hello!
Would anyone from the tech or design industry be able to give some advice in understanding if the compensation I would be getting seems less or at a good level as I am starting to a job in a new city. Here are the details:

Location: London
Offering - £65K
Role: Senior Product Designer
Organization: mid-sized in software development
My YOE: 2.5 years after bachelors then 2 years Masters in London

I would really appreciate your views! Thank you :)

Any know the salary for a senior solution analyst at BCG in the Chicago area? Glassdoor doesn’t have that job title listed, surprisingly.
