You know that’s an art. Figure out how to synthesize that feedback. The best conversations and delivery I’ve had happen when we have a “backchannel chat” open with the internal team and we can real time coach the speakers with cues they may not see or reminders that are the perfect zing in a conversation. Try it! If you hate it you hate it but I’m telling you it makes a difference.
If you have 2 screens are remote and aren’t the one talking all the time sure feedback can be accepted. If it’s one screen in the conference room all together… nope
It’s invaluable to have live perspective. Don’t think of it as them correcting you- it’s a collab effort to steer and facilitate.
Remove the ego from it and think of it as a tool you can use to amplify your impact.
You’re too focused on it messing you up- look when you can, you won’t always be able to, but glance every now and again.
It’s not. That MD is being ridiculous imo. For future, though, you could have teams up on your phone
Is it not Saturday? Why are you thinking about this..
It was a gentle reminder. Take it or leave it.
Nope, but they do it anyway all while having the ability to say it themselves during the meeting lmao
When you share screen in slide show how to do u read chat on slack and see expressions
Agree with a majority of the responders … you’ll need to figure out how to balance incorporating live feedback, which can be critical. Reading the audience and adjusting live is a great quality.
On the other hand, there are idiotic live feedbacks too … like the one I got via a text on my phone, cc”ing the partner “hi, I noticed a typo in slide 28 of the appendix, and there is a missed period on slide 32. Please mention it when you get to those slides” 😳
Long story short, my MD asked me to talk about numbers not included in the deck, but i didn’t see it until after the presentation was over. They got upset at me but how is that my fault?
100% welcome a back channel ping with helpful information to include in what is being presented in case there’s something I forgot to mention or got wrong
Double screens and yes you should be able to
No double screens. I just heard a bunch of pings.
Can someone give me the long story short, pls?
My MD asked me to share number via pings during my presentation and got upset that I didn’t see his pings
