It’s probably “the economy is about to crash” agency collusion if I had to guess.
It’s the trickle down of clients cutting budgets because of low sales, agencies losing projects, and staff now having time. At least that’s what’s happening to me.

If so, they're gonna be mighty disappointed when we all just go work in-house or in tech and the positions they still can't fill become even more super vacant.
Definitely them looking at their balance sheets and seeing how the run to freelance is rocking the boat big time.

If it's any consolation, my partner and I heard from a smaller/not "name" agency about a gig yesterday, so it's not ALL dead, knock wood...I have a feeling this is a big holding company-wide mandate thing while they assess Q2 earnings and hemmorrhage millions sending people to post selfies drinking rose' on rented yachts in Cannes...you know...important things like that.
Whoa. I'm sorry this hit the fan for so many of you. Has me worried about my current freelance as the gig is up end of month but I really need it to renew. #priceisrightloosinghorn 😰
Most places I’ve been at dial back on freelancers in Q1-Q2 so projects don’t burn hot in the first half of the year then by Q3 there is a surplus of funds left in the SOW so we are able to bring in more freelancers after staff has been stretched thin.
I think what has happened is that people were hiring like crazy after the great resignation and didn't think things through
I’m suddenly hearing crickets
I’ve actually seen an uptick in interest the past few weeks. Don’t lose hope.
