I agree this seems low. A family member is L5 (non-tech) at Prime Video. Her base is 130k. 27 years old. I think L6 should be closer to the 160k limit and bonuses should push you over 200 IMO. There’s generally a decently sized jump between the levels (it’s very hard to level up).
Yeah total comp is $175k. I’m going to ask for $160k using cost of living in Seattle as justification. Hoping they land at $140-150.
Just wondering, can someone explain to me what a non-technical role entails at Amazon? I could Google but I think the info here would be better. Thanks in advance!
Gotcha, thanks! I suck at coding so this is helpful.
There’s a difference between comp at AWS vs. Amazon. Also, non-tech roles also have different comp bands (ex. Sales vs support).
Can you provide your job title?
For example, I started at AWS as a L5 Technical account manger (non-tech) in March.
My comp:
Base - 140
Sign on - 66
Stocks -39
Following - I’m interviewing myself for L6 Tech role. Curious to hear what should be expected
What offer did you get?
Enthusiast
If they come up on base, expect to lose RSU’s.
AWS non tech L6, 130k base, 70k sign on, 95k RSU. Seattle.
Sr Program Mgr
Finance role? Seattle or Arlington? Supposedly amazon comp tops at 160 so that may be within range.
Not a finance role. Seattle.
Base seems low. Got more as an L5, AWS tho
Yes
Yes that is low. Your base should be 150K. They have more flexibility with bonus and stock comp. you can negotiate. Also, they discuss expectations upfront. What did you tell them?
They speak in terms of total comp. you need to set your TC #. I would go back and say you did the math and the TC is short. That you are flexible with how they want to close the gap and will work with the recruiter. You should be at $200-225K.
Also: what are RSUs?? Thank you.
I think you meant restricted STONKS units
What does L5 ect...mean??
Following. Interested in developments, keep us posted OP
So L4 is a senior associate type of role at Amazon?
Correct
