I think the same way, but I guess Deloitte would say we gave you an opportunity of coming to US, you should feel happy about it and bla blah. Plus they won't even give you a choice to transfer to US, there is so much red tape around it. If you are on h1b, it is best to switch to a US company as soon as possible. If you want to stay in US.

SC1, How different is your salary from what folks based out of US make? Aren’t you compensated on par with direct US hires?

Completely agree..bonus in INR is absolutely insane and I believe was done so USI can profit higher margins..unfortunately our group is pretty small and no one in the higher ups care so much among the broader scheme of changes happening in the firm. If you’re in h1b best is to move out or transfer if on L1b.. too much red tape there (again done I believe as USI does not lose want to lose revenue from landed resources)

It’s funny because Deloitte is struggling with resources in US and recruiting big but discouraging internal transfers and forcing ppl to consider leaving the firm

My wife will be starting law school next year at Harvard. School costs roughly $75k a year (3 years total) and we plan on taking out student loans. I currently make $120k. The last few years I’ve maxed out my 401k and Roth IRA but am wondering whether I should continue to prioritize maxing those out or minimizing/paying off student loans. I’m guessing the rate will be around 6% for grad loans. What balance should I strike between investing and paying down debt?

My gf and I are early twenties. She lives in the city with a friend. I live at home. Most of her income goes towards rent and eating out/doing stuff in the city, and I save/invest aggressively, so we have quite a gap in net worth. I try to tell her to cut back on spending but she says it’s what makes her happy. Any one had a similar experience/ have advice?

I am rolling over my after tax 401k (both contributions and earnings) directly into my Roth IRA. I know there will be a tax bill EOY for the earnings because they are considered pre-tax. But this is my 1st doing megan backdoor roth conversion. Can anyone explain what I need to do regarding this come tax season?
