No the prestige of Accenture can be considered by some to be one notch higher than offshore firms but I wouldnt bank on prestige alone as that can be quite fleeting. Getting into Big 4 isn’t all that difficult - except Ofcourse Deloitte being harder than Harvard..

Depends on your standards. Big 4 often recruits tip top students at state flagship schools and significantly above average students from anywhere in the top 30. For MBA, it'd be anyone significantly above average from M7 and top students from T25.
Contrast that with MBB, which recruits top students from maybe the top 15 universities, significantly above average HSW students, tip top MBA students from M7, and barely anyone else.
The reality is that big 4 consulting is quite prestigious for the general population. It's just that it's overshadowed by MBB. And when most people in FB have already made it to Big 4, similar firms, or better, Big 4 just seems meh. But it's very different for the outside world.
I get pay, idk about culture lmfaooo.
As a social science grad in a leadership role I must admit I do enjoy telling engineers and MBAs what to do... joking aside, purely based on my own experience the couple of people I’d put at the top of the list across everyone I’ve worked with in consulting tends to have an engineering background but they are the exception, many others tend to not do as well, often because they lack the understanding of the “subjective value” of being an advisor - our work is only as valuable as our client perceives it to be
Depends on how long you want to stay - partnership in a public firm is generally much less lucrative than any private firm, but if you just want to do it a few years I don’t see a huge prestige delta
I think from the outside Accenture and Deloitte are probably same, but on the inside very different. I was super impressed with the quality of everything at Deloitte: the people, the brand, the internal resources, presence in general.
I can only speak to these two as I’ve only worked at these two. And of course experience is subjective since there’s people trashing Deloitte on here daily.
My time at D was overall positive. I genuinely liked working with most of the people, but there were some bad apples like anywhere else. The brand is nice to have on my resume. But would agree ACN is just as good for many of their TC practices (ERP implementing, etc)

Big 4 isn't a monolothic group of firms all with the same "prestige." If you've been on this app for any amount of time, you'll notice that KPMG's consulting branch is the target of constant jokes as one example

Honestly OP, A3 pretty much nailed it - the only thing I would dispute is the bit about S&. I think it's fair to say S& is considered a step above Accenture while the rest of PWC is either at par or a step below Accenture for consulting
ACN & Deloitte have more mature tech practices than most, including MBB. Moreover, rising to Managing Director++ at an ACN is a fairly massive deal — you’re responsible for a much bigger firm.
I chose Accenture because they were paying $10k-$20k more for fresh campus hires. Can’t say I have any regrets regarding culture
Do you know how much PwC was offering for fresh grads in MC?
Deloitte BTA / HC offers were the same as CDP this year
I’m glad I had B4 on my resume early into my career. Especially for my industry it’s “prestigious” enough to find a good exit opp after a few years. Never aimed for MBB strategy so wasn’t on my radar. I would say ACN makes it “B5” for consulting at least (and esp for tech) so it’s prestigious enough for your first job. I know a lot of people who jump between the big firms regularly. Myself took a great offer at a smaller tier but can see myself going back to B4/ACN eventually.

As a b4 consultant, I put ACN and most Big 4 on the same playing field.
For tech and strategy, ACN and Deloitte are top of the specific group. For data science, ACN, Deloitte, and maybe KPMG are industry-leading (including above mbb)
What’s your yoe, location and pay so can compare
you'll find pro's and con's in every organisation! The only value the name gives your CV is to get to the interview stage when trying to change jobs. but thats when the name would mean nothing if you can't prove your right for the job. At that point doesnt matter if your from ACN, the big 4 or from an unknown company.
It’s hard to see because we’re in it, but to many people big 4 consulting has a certain “prestige.” However it’s probably better described as brand power than “prestige.”
You’ll surely find you have an edge over ppl from industry (assuming equal qualifications). But generally you’ll have less advantage over other Big4 tiers and disadvantage against MBB. But... remember... most of the white collar workforce are industry people not consultants.
