Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

I feel like that's been the MO at a lot of the big firms for awhile now - make utilization a main factor in performance, then when business goes away they can say it was "performance related" because their utilization is low. Then the firm goes around telling everyone that those let go couldn't cut it at a firm that puts 25 year olds from third tier state colleges in front of clients and claims they are the top experts in their field.
EY will go to non-target schools because their pay is generally lower.
When I went to EY/EYP, we generally lost to Deloitte out of undergrad on comp and MBA’s as well, EY was low generally on the preference side.
Data is better for undergrad hiring and EY paid lower and invested less in training than all but KPMG among Big4+Accenture.

I was there for two rounds of these.
EY never called them layoffs.
EY was always in a weaker position versus Deloitte and PWC.
Their having to do layoffs feels like it was always inevitable and what is unfortunate is that getting laid of earlier is better, given there isn’t a larger pool of ex-consultants now all vying for the same jobs.

Ouch. I was going to apply to PwC.
