Say you’re an Assurance Senior 3 and want to transfer soon as you hit Manager back to your hometown office. Should you secure the manager promotion at your current office first or go ahead and initiate the transfer at S3? I’m scared that they won’t accept me over their current S3s and so I think the safer bet is to make manager first then transfer. Deloitte EY PwC
Also, how desperate are firms for Managers these days? I know seniors and staff are in demand but I rarely hear about Managers.

I am right there with you. During my time off for the holidays I really evaluated where I was at with my job and I think it is time to find something new. I know the job market is bad but I am going to start looking and applying.
I decided to add that pressure, I start my new job tomorrow. You got this. We really have one life and to be miserable with low pay is insulting to who you are and where you should be. Go where you’re appreciated and prosper.
Thank you!
First, I would audit my career where I stand. What do I wanna achieve and if staying in the same spot is making me uncomfortable why is it making it uncomfortable? Then I would’ve take a look at my skills. Am I under skilled am I over skilled am I under performing and if so, what would I need to do to get to a point where I am extremely skilled to then level up. Sometimes getting a better role is not always better for you. It may cost you your peace. It may cost you your marriage. It may cost you so much more just be cautious. Google a year in review template and go through the exercise of understanding what you did this past year and why you feel the way you do currently that should hopefully uncover a lot of answers which should help guide you to the correct spot you want to go
I would also ask what gives me energy and what takes energy away from me for example, I hate cooking so therefore, I outsource it to someone I hate doing laundry therefore I outsource it to someone I love making financial models. I keep that I love doing due diligence in analysis on deals, I keep that activity I hate finding deals. I therefore outsource that to a sales person. Once you’ve done the audit and you’ve audited also your calendar from work what were the most enjoyable times what were the most horrible times? Why were they enjoyable? Why were they terrible? Is it because of the people I’m surrounding myself with? Wishing you all the best this new year.
Feel this. I'm starting by identifying what I want in a new job. Chiefly more money and less chaos. I am so over spending my limited free time on work and not being compensated well for the effort.
Completely agree with you and feeling the same way.
