It’s tough, and I’m sure you’re doing everything you can to get back in the saddle. With tens of millions of people out of work—and ad agency demand cratering—it’s even harder to stand out.
Have you considered applying to staffing agencies for the short term? Perhaps Adecco, Atrium, and Creative Circle?
Yes, I have spoken with those staffing agencies but have had no luck. Similar issue, I’ve been a CD for the last 6+ years, and even though I’ve expressed interest to work on lower level as needed, crickets. No leads, yet.

Sorry to hear that OP. I went through this last year, and I’m at it again due to the pandemic, albeit not in NYC. Have you had your resume reviewed by a resume writer to ensure it’s calibrated for ATS’s?
One of the biggest hurdles to job applications nowadays are Applicant Tracking Systems. They auto sort resumes for keywords and what they “think” your experience is. So you may have the best book in the world, but a recruiter might never see it.
I don’t say this to be disheartening though. Quite the opposite. If you tailor keywords on each application you submit you’ll increase chances of getting your resume in front of a recruiter.

Absolutely. My portfolio is about 50/50 typical 360 consumer work and pharma. Truly, leaning toward Pharma these days for obvious reasons.
