I’ve been a junior at my agency for a little over two years. I love the it here, though I haven’t made much for my portfolio. My mental health is in a really bad spot due to personal circumstances, and I know I can’t keep working right now. However, idea of taking 6–12 months off terrifies me, especially with the job market being what it is and having only one solid book piece since portfolio school. How do I be a decent manager to a coworker who's upset I've been promoted twice in two years and they haven't? We started out as coworkers, became decent friends after a few good moments, but went back to simply coworkers after they flubbed a few projects and I had to step in to clean up.
