I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

I don’t think it hurts to ask for what you think is fair. It’s hard trying to find out what’s fair though. I had an interview in which I asked the recruiter what’s the salary budget for the role. That allowed me to gage where I felt was accurate with what I bring to the firm. I hope that helps.
I like this option, if you're working through a recruiter. A lot of us aren't, so it makes the conversation a little harder to start. But I try to start off the conversation in a way that puts my reasons for negotiating up front like, "I've been underpaid in the past, so I want to have an honest conversation about salary expectations" or "I have a lot of experience in this field, so I want to make sure we come to salary number that works for your company but also acknowledges my expertise."
If you've already recieved the offer, I would reach out and let them know that you'd like to discuss salary/comp. Just throw it out there once they've mentioned their range "I am anticipating/looking to land on X side of the range, or on X number TC." You got this!
This is how I always approach it as well. Just be honest and open with them. It gets easier the more you do it.
