Quitting my job soon and am thinking about becoming a therapist/counsellor for lawyers and other high stress professions. Taking a poll on whether you would be attracted to the idea of a therapist who worked in biglaw and could speak to burnout, perfectionism and other mental health issues we typically face as lawyers. Thanks :)

Perhaps speak with Doron Gold? He’s a former practicing lawyer now doing counselling. Great resource.

Great idea. Thank you!

I would love this! I tried a therapist once but being a non-lawyer she just didn’t get it. It felt like a useless exercise working with someone who couldn’t relate.

So happy to hear that this would be helpful!

Yes 100% would be interested in this!

I have worked with a lawyer turned therapist and have found it helpful. Good luck.

I wouldn’t trust. What qualifies you to offer therapy?

I’m getting licensed. It’s just a focus area.

Hi! Just got offered a remote job with a startup for $75k base + 2k stock options, and benefits (100% covered insurance, wellness, 401(K) (no match 🥲) and tons more, BUT I enjoy the company I’m at and the people. The company I’m at wants me to move to either NYC or SF. I would taking almost a 11% pay cut but at least I wouldn’t pay rent or get taxed NYC/CA tax since I’d be in Florida! Would you take a pay cut for a remote job with more take home money after taxes?

Can't help but feel like I'm in a rut. I'm 23 and realized I still haven't accomplished goals that I set when I was 20. I waste copious amounts of time on Netflix. I told myself I'm going to accomplish XYZ certification exams over a year ago and started studying 3 or 4 times only to quit studying 3 days in. How do I stop being such a loser. I feel pathetic

I’m looking at buying an apartment as an investment that is down the street from my house. Newly renovated, Good location, close to shopping and a soon to be opened light rail station.
Challenge is that with 25% down and almost 7% interest, the all in costs (mortgage, taxes, insurance, small HOA fee) would have me breaking even or maybe negative $100 a month vs rent roll.

I am thinking about being slightly upside down for a couple of years until I slowly raise rent. Is this a crazy idea?

The best thing for my anxiety and depression has been admitting to myself I despise my job and career, and likely the corporate world, and that attempting to continue climbing the ladder was causing pretty much all my mental turmoil. Moving up the ladder is a fools errand. Every day my mind was fighting me for trying to get promoted because I knew it was meaningless. So with that said, mental health has been best it’s been in a long time. For anyone else in a similar boat, hope it helps.

Hi,

I wanted to know if in Google India offices, do people get to work on projects like Machine learning/ Deep learning in Healthcare? Like for example Dr. Lily Peng is working as a Product manager for Diabetic Retinopathy diagnosis with ML.

3 tips I always give to first-time home sellers that make my work easier:

1. Try professional photos. You have one chance to impress possible buyers. Use it wisely.
2. Be flexible with home showings. Maybe your possible buyers won't appreciate your house's potential if there are dogs running around or too many people inside.
3. Respond promptly to a purchase offer. Some people don't have much time to wait for an answer. Be quick and responsive!
