It's funny, I did feel like that once. I helped a friend of a friend find a job by giving them the number of someone I knew whose place might be hiring. They met and things worked out and they got the job. I was really happy about it, but part of me also thought, hey, maybe I should have gone after that job myself!
Yep - that’s what it is - I put in effort and then my coworker got the benefit. lol. Just felt a teeny bit of jealousy, but I’m over that now!
For sure. But if she found something better, that means you can too! It's awesome you were able to help her so you could get some practice job hunting. Now you should apply for yourself and try to find something that pays you better as well!!
That’s true! I guess I can put myself out there and see what better job I can get!
I haven't experienced that, but I could definitely see how you would feel that way. It was really nice of you to help her regardless, and I'm sure you improved her quality of life significantly. Maybe you should start looking for yourself?
Yep - I should try to look as well. Didn’t think of it since I didn’t feel an immediate need, but seeing that she’s making so much more makes me think….
Yes I have felt this way. I think a healthy amount of jealousy is normal to be honest. And the fact that you're aware of it shows that it's a normal feeling.
Glad I’m not the only one 😂 I know jealousy is one of those things that people don’t really talk about…
