I've been told I'm "not living up to the standards of the company". I asked for more details and they just said I'm not doing the right things to get the team motivated enough and get the ball rolling with a lot of our clients. I personally think this is super vague and is headed towards the direction of firing me. How can I save myself from that happening? What next steps would you take?

That feedback sounds vague, and you’re right to read between the lines. Try to get specific examples of what “motivating the team” means to them, then act fast—highlight recent wins, overcommunicate progress to clients, and show visible effort. It’s about perception now, so control that narrative.

Agreed that this is vague. Along the lines of the advice above, address it head on by compiling a list of ways to motivate the team, and then ask for feedback on it. Why? Gives you the chance to get them to say exactly what they’re looking for with you looking proactive and not clueless.

Be smart. Prepare yourself. They are letting you go.

I would be out looking for new jobs already. These companies aren't in the business of rehabilitation.

Gotta love that specific feedback. I wouldn't let it worry you too much. There are people in this business who's sole purpose in life is to critique and criticize others without ever offering any concrete solutions.

Interviewing soon with EY for a senior role (TD FSO). I originally applied for their core practice but the recruiter convinced me that since I’m coming from a financial services audit background, I’d be better suited for their FSO practice. Assuming I get the job, would exit opportunities be worse if I am in FSO instead of the core group? Thanks!

How would you approach an interview process where the company sounds exciting but you feel confident the role would not be a growth opportunity for your skill set? Is there a good way to respectfully approach that topic with the interview team and find a role that might be more exciting for you? Or is it better to walk away?

How do you come up with your labs to make sure they are aligned with the unit.? I feel like I am doing well on EOC scores but I feel like my class is a drag because we just drill concepts and the labs are not making the connections I’d like between the lesson and the activity. It becomes them just following my instruction and not much scientific processing or troubleshooting to come up with the conclusion. I want to make scientist not just students that pass the EOC.

Hello! I work in change management and am assigned to an IT POM transformation. I’m still in my fact finding/change readiness analysis phase, but struggling with the senior leadership team. Does anyone have any lesson learned or best practices in eliciting feed back from senior leaders? think SVP and above? I thought about focus groups, but their time is limited. Also, survey response rate tends to be low for these guys. Any ideas???

I’ll leave this question up for one week.

At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .
