Depends a lot on your position and LOB. I wouldn’t say that it’s easy to move up and get massive raises, but you can move up. Most people when they want a raise, go to another company
The best offer you are going to get is going to be at the job offer stage and any raise/bonus compensation is never guaranteed. Even if you are desperate to get out of your current role, you don’t want to go somewhere else just to be still miserable for less money. You might want to highlight what makes you unhappy at your current company and I’m sure Chubb folks on here will tell you if you would actually be in a worse off position moving there based on your current issues
When I started at Chubb in 2020, I was told I had to stay in the starting role for 1 year before I could apply for other internal roles. After the year, it took me about 4-5 months to get into a new position. I did find out later on that I was being underpaid in the promotion compared to my counterparts so do your research and be ready to negotiate.
You can def transfer internally to another role (12-18months after being in your curent role) but you wont be able to move more than 1-2 grades higher ( I think 1) without going up the chain for further approval. So typically its 1 grade and the difference cant be more than a certain %. I was promoted 3x and the last time was the biggest jump being 10k.
I was able to move to a more desirable role after my first 12 months but it was a lateral move level-wise and the pay bump was approx 10K. I know that I won’t ever get more than that at Chubb unless a higher-level role is created for me to move into. So don’t come in at a level that’s going to be a strain - it should at least be livable - cause you don’t know how easily you’ll move up in pay. Bonuses can help but are never guaranteed and yes, Chubb only favors the extremely high performers.
A Chubb recruiter reached out to me and told me they can only work from home one day a week. Not sure if this is a problem for you.
I am looking for part-time in the insurance industry. But would like it to be remote would appreciate any information that you can share.
Pretty decent opportunity because of higher turnover. You have to be in role for at least 18 months before you can apply for new positions. Negotiate that salary to one you would find acceptable regardless of the ability to promote because bonuses are like 1-2% a year and it’s a very high workload (again due to continued bulk transfers from turnover on a monthly basis). Hope that helps!
I’ve heard mixed things, with some saying Chubb supports internal mobility, while others feel stuck. Maybe it depends on your manager and department? Be sure to ask during the interview about how they view career growth and movement.
They will only give you the corporate answer. What interviewer will say our view on career growth and movement sucks.
I think it depends on the division and the department, but in PRS movement and advancement is supported and encouraged!
My experience is based in P&C as an account manager. currently I am interested in working part-time and remote. Any suggestions on companies that are hiring?
I would say it largely depends on what department your in as well as management my department is involved with Underwriting but the only openings available are usually senior positions which you might not qualify for or you would have to be willing to travel or cross state lines for opportunities.
