On an initial call with a company's recruiter, I was told the salary range. I said that the base pay is lower than what I make now, but with equity it's about equal, so it would be ok. If I actually receive an offer after the interview process, can I ask the company to match or at least get closer on the base pay? I'm also up for promotion this year so like to get a higher salary, but not sure if by saying "ok" to the recruiter's salary range that it'd look bad to ask for more later.c

First year associate thinking about making the just from medium sized reputable IP firm to In House. Started at said firm summer of 1L year as a law clerk/patent agent in May 2019, have worked through school and full time as associate since Sept 2021. Feeling very “stuck” in day to day work. Can a person just say that he cannot disclose his current salary while negotiating an offer and just mention his expected salary (which may be 2x current one) , because if the current salary is low ,the expected salary can't be too higher than current one ? Never seen such a case so just asking
