This is becoming quite typical. My wife is interviewing as an attorney and these questions are asked repeatedly and they should not be asked.
I always hear those in interviews esp as you get past the analyst stage of the firm only having expectations that you’ll stay 2-3 years. Companies are emphasizing and relying on employees need for the role instead of actually retaining them
Trying to find out if I plan to stay at the company for a while is one thing, but asking about kids, marriage is illegal. If you are desperate for the job, play along. I can almost guarantee it’s going to be an awful job, though.

Ya that’s weird.
It's wild how normal this is becoming, especially considering how legally iffy it is. It really shows that employers simply do not care anymore; they know they can get away with anything they want.
Employers have nearly all the leverage back that they lost a few years back.
