I applied to a role and my application sat for 4 months. Through networking, I was able to connect with someone who knew the hiring manager. She made a call and I had an interview in a week. I got an offer shortly after that.

I owe the last 15+ years of my career to a referral. A colleague knew I was looking, he recommended me to the client’s hiring manager, I got a screener the same day and it took off from there.
Thanks!
It’s huge! My colleague referred someone he worked with before for the sr counsel position I was hiring for. His endorsement reassured me in moving the candidate forward and she was eventually hired after the panel interview and the bosses final interview.
So referrral does work!
If you know the internal referral well, it moves the needle faster than anything. I’ve had two firms go from contact to hire within a month bc I was recommended by well regarded partners.

I was referred into my last role by an ex colleague and it fast tracked my application for sure, and it was clear from the first interview that they wanted to hire me.
That’s great
