I’ve heard ppl getting hired with fewer YOE than the the required number of years in the job posting. But is that still true in this job market? If I have 4 yrs of experience and the job is asking for 5+ yrs, should I still apply?

Yup. I’m on my third IHC position. All of my jobs requested more experience than I had.

1: wanted 4-5, I had 2
2: wanted 4-6, I had 4
3: wanted 10-15, I have 8

It’s what skill you bring to the table beyond lawyering. Interpersonal skills and being likeable/easy to work with/responsive are HIGHLY unrated skill IH.

also dont forget adaptability, im the youngest and most junior in my IHC team, but my role is still mid level and I interface with executives and legal c suite often

Always apply. I interviewed for two positions that wanted 6-10 years and I had 2. I was offered both. When I review resumes, I’m looking for someone with relevant experience and you never know if you’re the only applicant with relevant experience, even if it’s less total years.

Hi everyone. I'm pretty early in my career (just over 1 YOE) & not really enjoying my current role as a Consultant/Developer because of the type of projects I get combined with some mobility issues. However, I'm really interested in technical program management or project management and I'm looking for any advice on how to get there bc I've been applying, but can't even seem to get a call back.
