I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group. The next thing I know, I get a ping from his EA to set up time for me to chat with him and my director tomorrow. I am getting in trouble tomorrow, right?

Pivoting away from Sales: I’ve been in sales positions for 15 years, and I’m just exhausted by the role (disputing commissions, arguing about deals, all of it). I have a degree in marketing, but I am having a hard time landing interviews since I’ve never had a strictly marketing only role. I have 13YOE managing cross-departmental projects and people, and I’d like to shed the general EA work of calendars/travel/expenses. But recruiters just see my most recent role is EA and that’s all they want to talk to me about.
