Just accepted an IR analyst role at a PE RE shop. Planning on staying for at least 4 years as growth progression seems great. Curious to know what people tend to exit to after IR? Jeez our society is so crazy already thinking about the next step 😂

Would you mind sharing the comp? (Sorry I can’t answer your question)

Welcome to the Buyside. If everything goes well, you’ll exit into retirement with your kids thanking you for making the move.

Why 4 years? I hope to be in PE for life with a better-than-partner-at-McKinsey networth

like

Ya fair, if I like it then I’m down ahhaha. Was just curious what IR opens doors too

IR is about relationships and fundraising. You build a network of enough consultants and CIOs who like and trust you and you’ll do fine.

Or you won’t, you’ll be “managed out,” and then you’ll get another bite at the apple somewhere else.

Fundraising sucks until it doesn’t. Good luck out there.

If anyone else is studying, let me know and maybe we can share study materials!

For those who have taken it, are there any cheaper or alternative study materials to any official guides you would recommend? I went this route with the PHR and SHRM-SCP and passed each on the both try, so I wanted to see if that method may be viable here. Any recommended order to take courses in?

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️

It means ICOs are no longer open to anyone. You have to be a certified investor with the SEC. This is why Filecoin is conducting their ICO with CoinList instead of on their own. CoinList ensures their ICO is only open to certified Wall Street investors and makes sure FileCoin's ICO is treated as a normal IPO.

Granted please correct me because IPO investing is something I don't know a ton about.
