Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express
Cisco interviewed me for 3 months for a couple of roles and then offered me comp that is considerably less than my current comp for a product manager role!! They also said its cisco policy to not offer rsu for mcol cities. Rsu is apparently only meant for candidates in hcol cities.
Need to punch a bag every day for several days to get over this bs.

Strip down what you did before to basic skills. That helps a lot when trying to figure out what’s transferable. Take out the semiconductor part if that’s what is holding you back. Very easy to pigeonhole yourself into one niche out here.
Make sure your resume is less focused on the industry you’ve recruited in and more broadly as a technical recruiter. How were you instrumental? What processes/retention did you improve?
The job market is very rough right now which is likely why you haven't had any luck. I would try networking and try getting referrals. Sometimes a referral can help you get your foot in the door.

Your sourcing skills are highly transferable. I would reframe your experience around stakeholder management, market mapping, and talent strategy rather than industry. Target internal TA, workforce planning, or HR ops roles.

It’s hard at the minute which doesn’t help the situation, so a lot of people are in the same boat. I agree above, I would try looking for a referral, word of mouth can be pretty strong nowadays.
