McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

What’s the offer
I Believe Amex does not negotiate intern offers, and rent is not that expensive; don’t look at midtown and lower west side, etc there are four other boroughs to live in. As well as New Jersey. You can easily find a nice spot to live within your budget.
Also, you may not even go into the office at all, and I would recommend just staying remote and saving the money for something more useful.
My response to rent was for the feeling that OP is looking only at being close to the NYC office, which of course, rent is stupidly high. But farther out, you can find cheaper rentals, and I’m sure within OP's budget.
I'm sure there are some subleasing loopholes you can find to make rent more attainable. Rent in NYC is crazy, but I'd bet that class of those who were selected for an AmEx internship is elite, I'd try to finesse it any way you can.
Interns probably get paid more than EU bros
I disagree with AE1. You definitely should come into the office! It will make the experience more meaningful. Come to nyc and come to the office!
I doubt you can negotiate a higher pay and it will probably make you look bad as an intern. Rent is high but you can find a place within your budget for sure, it’s just a couple of months.
Have never heard of anyone negotiating for internship lol typically flat offers with relocation stipend
Always negotiate. That is my number one rule. The worst they can say is no and you won't know unless you ask. Don't leave any money on the table.
Hey is can I speak with you privately I have an interview for that same position, I would love to know what to prep for.
