Been doing accounting for over a year, I am well adversed in accounting, payroll, sales tax, and taxes, have done accounting for companies generating up over 10 million dollars in revenue. Everyone at my firm got a pay bump about a few months back but I’m still stuck at $15 the hour. Am I getting taken advantage of? I’ve also worked through a tax season and have been putting out 80-90 hour weeks consistently. Haven’t stopped working 60+ hour weeks since May. Almost 21. Any help????

When you have conversations regarding comp with recruiters/in your interviews, do you share your base salary or total comp (including stock, bonus, etc) expectations? I’ve only shared my base salary expectations but understand that stock and bonus can be a large part of comp too so don’t want to leave that on the table

Also if i do all paperwork with amdocs and doesnt join will there be any issue for me, i dont intend to do this, but in case cognizant backs off I have to keep a back up offer in hand.

Sibling is 52 days sober from heroin/cocaine, but I just found a syringe and alcohol wipes under their pillow.

They have been passing observed urine tests, how is it possible that they’re using? Any ideas?

Been running on self-will for the duration of this lockdown. My reserves that I built up in this program are depleted. Thankfully I was able to attend a meeting this evening, and the topic was 3rd step. Funny how that happens. Good reminder that a life run on self-will can hardly be a success.

New to recovery and had an intake call with an IOP program. They said all sessions will be on Zoom and I’m really nervous that I won’t connect to the program virtually. Anyone start rehab virtually?

4+ months sober. I do zoom AA every day but this was the first time I shared as a newcomer. I have some phone numbers from the group and hoping to get a sponsor soon. I plan to be sober 1 year before I can think of doing the steps. I read Living Sober and The Big Book every day in addition to prayer and mindful meditation. But would love to chat with someone “telephone therapy” can be something like Discord or WhatsApp.

I got a dui under the influence of alcohol a few months ago and fighting the case with my attorney. However, I am in the job market and afraid if I get an offer this will show up in my background check. How do I explain this to my potential employer if asked?

Just wanted to post an update. 68 weeks ago I posted about my drinking problems. It was bad. It’s been 8 months now without a single drink. I still can’t believe it. I still miss drinking. I’ve sat with coworkers and watched them drink. It’s not nearly as fun, but I am so thankful each morning I can hold my head up high. Will I drink again? I only said I would quit for 60 days. Can I have a beer? Some wine? A fine bourbon? I sometimes crave it. I guess there is the answer! You can all do this!

I left my last job because I didn't appreciate the culture (B4). However, it was probably because I was a terrible employee. However, I do find that my clients love me 10x more than my consulting colleagues. I joined a smaller firm to cover up the problem.

I drink during the day. I know it's the main reason for my ability to be a productive employee. Anyone else deal with this? I'm trying to control it through moderation management, Dharma meetings, therapy, and white knuckling.

Does anyone have experience going to AA while still using Plant assisted therapy such as Kratom and medical cannabis. I don’t wanna lie but I want to be accepted as there are only a few meetings here.
