Self-exclusion is the way to go and if it’s online gambling, look into “Gamban” it’s a service that I used. Costs about $3/month (which is well worth it to save urself from throwing away thousands/month)

Start using cash for payments. Don't use a debit card unless it is prepaid. Give credit cards to someone you trust and only use for travel and other absolutely necessary uses.
Don't watch or read any social media about your gambling interest and stay away from people who encourage or trigger your addiction. Good luck
