Hi Sharks, I am asked to sign the offer letter. It's kind of an agreement between me and the company for accepting the offer and compensation numbers. Of course It doesn't have statments like I have to join the company on signing this. My question is that 1. If I get a better offer can I go and ask them to revise the offer? 2. Can I decide not to join the company? Will there be any legal consequences? Have you ever been asked to sign the offer? Boeing Tata Consultancy Wipro Capgemini Cognizant

60 k is not competitive for MBB salary
You dont say 🤣
I’m pretty sure the tax compliance job a KPMG recruiter offered me pays more than that
(I work in M&A)

I’ve gotten outreach from a few firms founded by former MBB folks. They all try to cash in on the MBB ties but they are not MBB. It’s just another boutique.
I once worked for one of those former MBB firms before I joined a T2. But in my case they did strategy consulting and the company was the only visible chance entering strategy consulting.
But yeah, they paid worse and expected more than at McKinsey. And honestly, I was super pissed in the end since they justified it with: but you learn more. Which is a crappy argument considering the pay.
Also, do you really want to work for a company that tries to be more attractive by saying we have staff from another company? That McKinsey strategy hype really has to stop. Implementation is good work, strategy is good work, but this “we once worked for McKinsey” marketing scam is really annoying. Because for example for one of my colleagues, I really saw the reason why McKinsey fired them. So for him McKinsey really just was the unreachable ex gf he still bragged with and couldn’t forget/stop talking about.
But as I said it might make sense if you exit early enough and enter into MBB or T2.

Depending on where you are, $60k is a competitive entry level starting salary for implementation ignoring the standard fluff in the posting. 🤷
Agree. Its just hilarious how they present themselves.
