Either go to a different district or look to leave teaching, I’ve anecdotally seen a good amount of people leave teaching for tech/corporate jobs with just certifications/bootcamps
This isn't exclusive to teaching. The same has been happening in the past few years everywhere. Companies will pay new employees more to attract new talent. So if you want to make more, you'll need to move around every couple of years
Yes it's everywhere newer medical assistants get paid more than I do n I've been on 10 years
This is so discouraging, but I agree with the other comments--it may be time to move to a new district where you can negotiate. The fact that they are incentivizing people to move jobs/districts often is so disheartening though
We just lost about 3 teachers a principal and an assistant. They were all excellent, so I imagine this is why.
The district should really standardize things to market value b/c this will lead to such uproar!
If your district is not willing to address the issue or you believe your legal rights have been violated, you may want to consider seeking legal advice. Maybe you can file a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or seek legal representation.
