Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?
Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I had an interview this past Thursday, sent a follow-up on Friday to affirm my interest, and the recruiter said she would get back to me as soon as any new info was available. After a week without hearing anything I sent a follow-up this morning and got her OOO message. Who knows if the time off was planned or if this has any bearing on the decision that may have already been made, but ai am definitely not going to hear anything either way until Monday at the earliest.
I have been looking and applying all week long, and I suggest that you do the same. Holidays and PTO definitely impact timelines, as do quarter ends, both ofwhich are at play this week. All that to say that neither of us have any indication of where the decision is at.
Reality is - All interviewers , whether recruiters who will get you the first round/2nd interview and also hiring managers - would sound very optimistic and can sound very positive about next steps of the interview process , but only to result to being ghosted. Trying to send an email to recruiter and separate email with the hiring manager to see if you get a response. If you don't send another following email about 3-5 days after. If you still do not get any response, then I believe you have to move forward. I've experienced that myself. Perhaps you can asked during first interview if what method is the best way for you to follow up - phone/email so you can put shift the pressure on them to respond.
hope this helps!
Cheers and best of luck to all job seekers!
Been told will get back a week ago and then ghost!

A lot of the time a slight delay is just people running into delays with stakeholders. So it’s not that it’s a no, it’s that something is held up somewhere.
