L4 MD is an underwhelming total comp. Head elsewhere…
You just made SM and you think you’re ready for MD? I suggest seeing if you can hack it at SM first. Anyway I think it will be hard to jump at SM without at least proving yourself a couple years
Not everyone came in with no work experience. Some people pretty senior in other industries came to Accenture and took a huge cut just to get in and get experience in another industry.
On the flip side, I've seen some people with no other experience get promoted to manager pretty fast with zero management and leadership experience and it shows.
That’s where many of us are, for me, I’m just keeping my head down and surviving until the market improves. Might even opt for L5.
13% pay bump for even more work and sales targets? Yeah no thanks; not while Julie is CEO.
Julie sounds like quite a hoot
The backlog I’m seeing can be leapfrogged. A lot of SMs that might never make it. It’s not truly 5+ years depending on practice.
That said, it depends on what your priorities are. If you want to chill and progress at pace, stay at Accenture. If you want to make partner as quickly as possible and don’t see a path here it’s a good time to transition as a first year SM.

Sounds like you’re in a great position (recently promoted, prob safe from layoffs) and can really take your time to get more experience while searching for something more aligned with what you want. There is no rush.
What does the total comp look like? I know it can vary quite a bit but curious on the range
I went L5 route and am happy there. Generally pick my projects and teams and have had a good work life balance for years cause I’m not chasing MD or sales.
Rising Star
Enjoy it for a few year :)
