You will hate it, I am a Mac SME and work exclusively on Mac at client, office is dumbed down and Skype crashes. Don't do it unless you use the features off Mac or really really need good battery life.
I have a Mac at home. Office for Mac makes me want to gouge my eyeballs out anytime I do any real work. Unless the upgrade includes a copy of Parallels and a windows install (runs a virtual windows environment within a window on the Mac desktop - windows does run better on a Mac), or you're primarily creative and work within the adobe suite, avoid.
I'm only keeping my work mac for iMessage.
Don't do it unless you need something Mac-specific. Skype is terrible. Outlook is missing functionality. Visio/Project have to be run through Parallels. Excel sizes things differently between PC and Mac for some stupid reason
I HATE my Mac for work... it crashes constantly when running parallels. Great "fun" computer for iMessage and a few other personal type things, but sucks for work...
Thanks all. It sounds like a solid "don't do it" recommendation. And it sounds like that'll save me a lot of frustration.
I use a MacBook Pro with parallels and windows office all day. Retina display & battery life beat most PC laptops hands down
