I have an MHA and 4 years of management experience. I’m currently a manager, but seeking a director level position. Any advice for trying to temper my expectations? I feel like all director level positions have 5 years in the posting, but a lot of my peers with the same experience are already in director level positions. Are they just lucky? I have an informational interview with a Managing Director on Friday about a manager role. I currently serve in a client services role and do not have traditional consulting experience (billable hours, etc.). I’m trying to break my lease. I have notified the management company of my intent to do so in writing. They are just refusing to respond and keep ignoring my follow-up emails. Do I have any recourse? Can they physically bar me from leaving?

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐
