I too have looked forward to surgery… This post is a good wake up call that that’s not normal nor a positive indicator of employment satisfaction
Why don’t you quit then
Rising Star
Same…
My most relaxed day this year was the day of the surgery. People taking care of me. Nobody bothering. Already the day after that, while work was still quiet, significant other got me on house chores and the peace ended.
Rising Star
I heard from someone on similar tone that was kind of heavy. The day I die will be the day I will be the most relaxed guy. Everyone will be busy, trying to arrange for my funeral, what should I wear, everyone has food to eat, and it seems like I will be the only guy with no responsibilities that day. I will be most cared for guy that one day.
Same. It’s brutal
Chief
If it’s the kind where they put you on a lot of drugs, it’s not that bad
Same
I hope it isn’t a prostate exam you’re looking forward to
Haha, I think this is normal.
Years ago, I got a bad case of the flu. Nobody expected me to work, do chores, show up places, etc. Very nice for first couple days! (... then became boring)
remember that you’re able to afford the medical procedure is because of work - haf you shed phank yew yet?
Man that sucks … I look forward to my dental appointments so I can justify having my phone on DND.
Take a step back and think about what youre living for. Only then will the money and corporate ladder seem to mean less and less
I have a chronic disease, and for a decade, my medication was a monthly infusion at the hospital. I used to joke that it's my "me time." Now they have changed it to at home injection and I actually miss that 5-hr per month of the quiet time.
A dentist was once rightfully surprised when I told him my cavity filling was the best part of my day that day
Anytime I find myself going there, I ask myself “Is anyone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to things you don’t want to do?”
So far the answer is always no, it’s me choosing to do this. I hope the day comes soon when you realize you are in a prison of your own making. Good luck!
