KPMG has criteria for green card application that they can only start the process when I am 24-36 months away from max out date! Is there anyone on FB who was able to start the process before that?

If they are firm on this then I may have to jump to other company 🙁

like

Hi, I read it was 18 months and they would start it if you had a 3 rating

like

Does other firms have same criteria?

lol that's a funny policy, at PwC it is that I have to work for minimum 12 months and then they can start your GC.

lol that did not sound right, I meant you have to work for minimum 12 months before they can start your GC. You don't have to wait till the last moment.

If you are from India then that policy will make things worse for you

K1 - that is true. This is additional criteria.

It is 24 months employee in good standing with partner backing and signed off business case for HR.

K2 - are you talking from your own experience? Is so which practice?

P1 - can we read the policy somewhere?

I am and MC practice.

So
- I didn't get selected in the H1B lottery.
- My company has agreed to send me to their London office for a year (haven't yet filed application).
- OPT ends in late June, so I can stay till mid-late August (grace period).

Question:
Should I just move to London as soon as I'm able to, or is it worth waiting until the end of my OPT in August in case they do a second round of the H1B lottery?

Does it matter if I don’t meet the specific job requirements when transferring H1B? The job posted requires CPA license but I haven’t got it. The employer is still willing to hire me. I know for PERM process, meeting minimum requirements is important but not sure if H1B have such requirement. I heard that for H1B as long as it’s a position requiring bachelors degree and specifically occupation that should be fine. But kinda worried about this.

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? TIA!

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me.
